Overcoming JET lag Jan 20, 2016
Long-time readers of this weblog know that the topics here have always been all over the map - electronics, digital design, embedded firmware, but also trying out new stuff, getting organised, re-thinking software development, and more. This week is no exception…
I’d like to revisit the design of a long-term home monitoring and automation system for use here at JeeLabs. If you’ve been keeping count, you could call it “HouseMon IV”, but I’m going to stick to the name “JET” for this project.
Here are this week’s articles, as always presented in a few day-sized chunks:
- JET, as seen from 9,144 meters - Wed
- Ongoing software development - Thu
- Architecture: it’s all about data! - Fri
And since a picture is often worth more than a thousand words, here is one:
This diagram was made early 2015 for the intial README page of JET, and the basic design of the system now being presented really hasn’t changed that much.
