Forth Live Explorer¶
Folie is a command-line utility to talk to a Forth µC via a serial port or telnet link
Git repository: https://git.jeelabs.org/jcw/folie
Folie is work-in-progress. For a first introduction see these articles:
- A new serial tool: vive la Folie! - on
the JeeLabs weblog, Mar 2016
(a translated and adapted version of the above was also published in the Q4 edition of “Vierte Dimension” in German - forth-ev.de)
- This node speaks Forth (and C) - on the JeeLabs weblog, Dec 2016
Folie v2 is a complete rewrite, with as goal to better support all platforms and to simplify uploads with built-in flash images for a few µC boards.
There are a number of ready-made executables on the Releases page. There are no dependencies, they’ll also run on older versions of each OS.
For all background info and articles, see the weblog at https://jeelabs.org/.
For general discussion and help, there’s a forum at https://jeelabs.net/. You have to register and jump through a few hoops to be able to post and participate in the discussions, due to some anti-spam measures - but as a result, the forum is more or less noise-free.
Everything in the Folie repository is Open Source, see the “unlicense”.
